Desert Arboretum

The Desert Arboretum at Polytechnic campus was designed to conserve water and highlight drought-tolerant, native plants. Two large agave sculptures were created from recycled metal and provide focal points in the arboretum. Each agave is at a different stage of growth. The younger one is placed at the entrance of the campus, and the larger one located in the center. The desert arboretum concept was built from the desert walk, which originally extended from the technology building to the center building. New buildings on the campus have been designed to mesh with the original arboretum concept and add to its evolution as a campus gem.
